CHIKARA announced a working agreement with Dragon Gate USA at its April
26th event at The Arena in Philadelphia. This is the beginning of a
close relationship between the two avant-garde promotions. The partnership
will start on July 25th when Dragon Gate USA has its debut event at
The Arena (tickets go on sale this Wednesday, April 29th at www.DGUSA.tv).
July 25th will see CHIKARA present an eight man tag team bout featuring
its top stars. The participants in this contest will be announced at
www.DGUSA.tv and www.chikarapro.com
in the upcoming weeks. The partnership between CHIKARA and DGUSA is
a natural one as both come from the same family. CHIKARA founder Mike
Quackenbush and Dragon Gate kingpin CIMA were both trained by the Lucha
Libre veteran Jorge "Skayde" Rivera.
"To both CHIKARA fans and Dragon Gate USA fans around the world,
this partnership is a natural progression," Quackenbush said. "This
is a very exciting time for CHIKARA, and it's very exciting to be teaming
up with Dragon Gate USA. Like us, they are trailblazing a path into
the future of our sport, and now that the two most cutting-edge wrestling
companies on Earth are coming together, it makes this an exciting time
to be a fan as well."
CHIKARA has earned a loyal fanbase by developing a unique, cutting-edge
brand. CHIKARA promotes an innovative, high-flying, lucha-inspired brand
of wrestling. The hungry talent of CHIKARA will mesh perfectly with
the style that Dragon Gate USA plans to promote. CHIKARA recently pulled
off the highly successful King Of Trios weekend featuring 48 top stars
in a 3-day tournament. The raved-about shows are now available on DVD
at SmartMarkVideo.com for
immediate delivery. This offers fans a great look at what CHIKARA's
wrestlers will bring to DGUSA.
"After attending the King Of Trios it was obvious that there isn't
a better partner for Dragon Gate USA than CHIKARA," your host to
DGUSA Gabe Sapolsky said. "Both promotions come from the same roots
and strive to evolve their pro wrestling style. Both DGUSA and CHIKARA
will progress together. The fans will see our appreciation with a great
talent roster and the most exciting matches."
