BxB Hulk always wanted to be a professional wrestler. He said that they just "looked cool to me" growing up. However, before Hulk pursued his dream he was a member of the Japanese armed forces as a ranger. This instilled several of the qualities that make Hulk successful in the ring including discipline, work ethic, toughness and bravery.

Then the time came for Sapporo native to begin training to realize his ambition of entering the squared circle. He had an impressive athletic resume with 10 years of being an accomplished baseball player and six years of martial arts training. Hulk immediately knew the Dragon Gate Dojo was the right place for him as he just "liked the Dragon Gate style the most."

The high-flyer and hard-kicker went on to become the second ever graduate of the Dragon Gate Dojo. From there Hulk developed his memorable ring entrance, involving dancers. Hulk states that he does this dance routine because it gets his adrenaline going. He sees it as a way for him and the fans to get hyped together for the match before the opening bell.

The five-year veteran has captured his first major singles championship by winning the Open The Freedom Gate Title. He has already proved to be a fighting champion by immediately putting the belt on the line against Susumu Yokosuka in Japan, just a week after winning the title in Philadelphia on November 28th. This also put the strap on the international map. Hulk raised some eyebrows by defeating the veteran Yokosuka in a very competitive match.

Now the World-1 member is faced with another Dragon Gate veteran and one of the most recognizable Dragon Gate figures in Dragon Kid. It will be Hulk vs. Kid on January 23rd in Chicago at The Congress Theater. This will be the first Open The Freedom Gate Title defense on pay-per-view.

"I am a very quiet person," Hulk said. "I work very hard for everything until I reach the goal, even if it takes me years.
